The sail news last Monday of the
death of Mr. Louis Bennewies has
cast. a gloom over our burg He was
born on the homestead 711 years ago
and has been in failing health of late.
1 -ie lived retired in Brodhagen for -
several years after•which lie left his
farm. lot 35, con. 9, Logan, After the
death of his wife he moved to the
home of his son,. who purchased the
old homestead some years ago from
his uncle, Mr. John Betinewies, who
was a former member iu the McKillop
council and later a inentber or the
Logan council and later a member of
the Ontario Legislature, ttnd Is now
retired in Brodhageu. Mr. Bv111wwles
was of a genial disposition and the
sympathy of the community goes out
to his bereft fancily.
A number from here attended the
funeral of the late Johu Connolly on
Monday. Requiem Mass was celebrat-
ed at St Bridgid's Church, Logan, by
the pastor; Rev. Fr, Gibbons, He was
a lire long member of this parish,
His remains laid to rest in St. Vin
cent de Paul Cemetery, Mitchell. The
sympathy of the community goes out
to his bereft family.

for seeding operations as the snow
has almost- disappeared. The roads

The death took place in Clinton
Hospital on Sunday afternoon of R..
D. Stalker after several months' ill-
ness. The departed limn was a resid-
ent of East W'awan0slr on No, -1 high-
way until three years ago when he
retired and moved to town. Mr. Stalls
et' was formerly a councilor of the
nuuiiripality of East Wawauosh and
was a commissioner of Myth Tele-
phone System for several years. He
was a member of the United Church.
He is survived by lits wife, formerly
Jenny Lttltllaw. two slaughters, Mrs.
William Nisbett and Miss Ida Stalk•
et', and one son, James, of London.
The funeral was held on Wednesday
afternoon from his late residence.
