STANLEY Greer-Carnie— A quiet wedding " was solemnized at the parsonage, 'Varma, on Tuesday, April 9th, at 9 a.m., when Rev. J. R. Peters united in marriage Miss Margaret Jean Garvie, daughter of Mrs. and the late James A. Cantle, of Stanley, and Robert J. Greer, son of Mr, and Mrs, Robt. Greer, of the Blue Water Highway. The bride wore a street length dress of navy sheer With accessories to match. The con - Ole were attended by Miss Charlotte Ilene Greer, sister of the groom, and Robt. M. Turner. After the ceremony the wedding party drove to the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Westlake, where a reception was held and wed- ding breakfast served. The bridal couple left amid showers of confetti and good wishes of friends for a trip to Toronto and points north. The bride chose a navy coat and hat with rose accessories for travelling. The invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. 11. Greer, Melvin, Jean and Clifford. • Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Howard of Exeter uncle and aunt of the bride, whose thirty-seventh anniversary fen on the saute day. A highly respected citizen and 'pi neer of this district, in the person Mr. Michael Kiinkhauier, passe away at his home here on Friday e ening following a paralytic atro a week previous.
