in the family plot of his parents.

THE LIONS BANQUET.
On Tuesday, the Lions welcomed a
delegation of Coderic'h Lions fifteen
strong, to their dinner meeting at the
Olympia Restaurant and spent a
hilarious two hours. Mr. 'Chas. E.
Naphtali, of II•amilton, was also a
guest of the Club and gave a number
of readings, responding to live en-
cores. He is an entertainer of ex-
ceptional ability, most pleasing' per-
sonality and the Club will 'look for-
ward to another Visit from hiss at a
later date. He look the place by
storm. The President, R. \M. toms,
welcomed the visitors and short ad-
dresses were given by President Lee,
of 'Goderich, and Dr. Gallow, the
president-elect. Lion J. E. Keating
gave a solo which received hearty
applause. Seaforth Club attended 100
per cent. strong for the fifth consecu-
tive meeting; thus assuring them of
the prize offered by the Lions Inter-
national. Great enthusiasm was
manifested w en
e result was an-
nounced after the roll call. Chair-
man W. J Duncan announced that
considerable work 'had been done at
the Lions Park and the younger
geuenation • are assured of an at-
tractive and sanitary swimming pool
,jn 'the early future. To assist in rais-
ing money for this very worthy
cause the Liogs Chub has set aside
June 4th for a Lions Day, the ,par-
ticulars of ,which 'will be announced
at an early date.
STRIVING TO IMPROVE
OUR TOWN.
The Lions Club of Seaforth is
now well under way. Its first im-
portant objective its to provide a
suitable swimming 'pool and rec-
reation pas] tor boys and girls—yes,
for everybody. Considerable work
of •a practical stature has already
been done and in order to meet
certain financial obligation f that
will arise in carrying out this 'worthy
scheme it has been decided by the
Club to put over what will be
known as "Lions Day" and in con-
nection therewith all our townsfolk
and the public generally are invited

make Seaforth more inviting, more
attractive and more popular than it
has ever been .before. In fact, the
sole purpose of this special event is
to assist the fpsnhierance of a real
community benefit drive.
REMEMBER
Lions Day will be Thursday, June
4th, and for that date, Lion Clmeoros
has cheerfully offered to place the
Olympia Restaurant in the hand of
the 'Lions Club. All the profits
made in sale's during •the day will go
t6 the Club to 'help defray expenses
attached to the pond and play
ground. We might simply mention
here that time Olympia 'Restaurant is
not seeking publicity or •profit for
itself 'frown the day's 'proceedings.
Every. Lion will the out to do his
utmost to stake the day a big suc-
cess and with your assistance a ,profit-
able undertaking is assured. Lay
aside a little money to part -''with on
this special occasion. Have your
'children save •their coppers, nickels
and dimes to 'spend then.. When
the day arrives, 'hop to' it, snake a

The Council.—A special meeting of
the 'Council ,}Va'S held on April 29th
at the Township Hall, Staffa, to read
and consider the Engineer's Report
on the Tyndal drain and extension.
'All the members were present except
the ' Clerk, unavoidably absent
through illness. His place vas 'taken
by Mr. 'Hills, the Treasurer, Minutes
of the last ;meeting were read and
adopted and signed by the 'Reeve and
Acting Clerk. The Engineer's report
on the Tyndal drain and extension
was read, considered and adopted.
The Clerk is 'hereby instructed to
prepare a by-law to authorize the
construction of time said work and for
the raising the necessary .funds by
issue of debentures to extend over a
•term of five years. Orders were is-
sued on the 'Treasurer to the amount
of $648. The Council adjourned
to

'Revision on assessment roll and
