The presentation was made to Mr. Jim Simmbns, the Captain, at the !Chamber of Commerce meeting on Thursday evening, who thanked the Strat- ford C. of C. for their generous donation. Mr. George Janmubh extended thanks on (behalf of the Brodhagen. and District "Chamb- er of !Commerce. At the same meeting the 38 members were placed on different committees. Mr, F. Knight, a member of the Ontario Chamber •of 'Commerce presented the 'Brodhagen Dist- iict Chamber of Commerce with their charter. Sergeant Ken Mc- Kay, Provincial Police of Se- bringville showed films of and gave a talk on safe driving. Parents and band members met on Monday evening and committees were formed to be in readiness for the two band socials to be 'held next week. St. Peter's Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School is being planned to be held the week of July 15 to 19 and the Sunday School picnic, Sunday, July 21. Rev. and Mrs. E. J. Fischer and Grace and Mr. George Die - gel are at the former's cottage at Port Elgin for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. COLUMBAN The regular meeting of the C.W.L. wan held in the parish hall with Mrs. IM. Murray pre- siding. Mrs. Angus Kennedy and Mrs. Bowman gave a report of the annual convention held in St. Thomas. The ladies discussed a bingo and tea to be held est the home of Mrs. F. Bowman on Friday evening, June 21. Good used clothing may be left inbhe basement of the church to be sent to the missions. The meet-. ing closed with prayer. Chances were sold on a gift donated by Mrs. Bowman. It was won by Mrs, Jos. Burke. CROP REPORT !Most of the corn and beans are in and are benefiting from the nice showers towards the end of the week. Some grass has been put in the silo and a few others have startedcutting dry hay. Haying should he general this coming week. The apple crop should be above average. Very little scab is apparent.
