ON THURSDAY
The Seaforth town council
meeting was not held 'Monday as
a number of member's were out
of town. The meeting is schedul-
ed for Thursday evening of this
week.

To standardize all local call-
ing from public and semi-public
telephones throughout its terri-
tory in Quebec and Ontario,
The Bell Telephone Company of
Canada plans to adopt a uni-
form Charge of 10 cents per
call in Seaforth and all other
communities where this rate
does not now apply, W. W. Hay-
som, Bell Telephone manager for
this territory, announced this
week. The new rate is expected
to 'become effective toward the
end of June.

L. 0. L. 1035 on Thursday even-
ing last a bible for the altar
was presented and dedicated. It

ster in memory of her late hus-
band, Elmer( Webster, a past
master of the lodge. ;Rev. T. J.
Pitt gave ;the prayer of dedica-
tion. Visitors were present from
Greenway, Exeter, Seaforth and
Winthrop lodges.

The Mother's Day service was
well attended and the printed
program was followed. The min-
ister, Rev. S. Kerr was in
'oharge of the service. The sing-
ing was led by the junior choir
who also provided a special
number. The Sunday 'School
classes with their 'teachers occu-
piedews. Several of

with diplomas by ;the superin-
tendent, Mrs. T. L. ;Scott, for
memorizing scripture and for
regular attendance
The members of the Y. P. S.
enjoyed a Weiner roast at the
home of Alex and Oarlyn Mei-
kle on Saturday night.
Mrs. Lloyd ',Sorsdahl was host-
ess for the Ladies' Aid meeting
on Tuesday evening. The pres.,
Mrs. W. 'Harper, presided. and
Mrs. ,E. Moore •conducted the
wordhip period -using prayers
from the Bible as her scripture
study, and she also read a story
of "An answer to a Mother's
Prayer", and led in prayer. Re-
ports were given by the secre-
tary and the treasurer. House-
hold hints were given, by Mrs.
J. M. ,Scott, and (Mrs. T. L.
'Scott sang a solo, "My Mother's
Song", ,playing her accompani-
ment on the harp. After a
lengthy discussion regarding a
strawberry supper it was •decid-
ed to hold one in June. Mss. T.
Laing and 'Mrs. W. 'Miller were
