more demonstrated 'four ways of Mak-
ing cushions with yarn. A 'beautiful
applique quilt made !by the Club was
on .display, of -Which 'Mrs. C. (J.
O'Brien was the lucky winner when
the ticket was drawn by little Amy
Walters. Meeting closed ivith the
homemaker's prayer, and some sew-
ing was done. The May meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs. Newman
Garrett Roll call will 'be "Ten ques-
tions on current .events," and each
member will he fined one cent for
each question unanswered. There will
be no supper collection and the sti9-
per will be ,a ',pot -luck" one to ;which
each one is -asked to 'contrllonte some-
thing. There will be the annual ex-

Death again entered and claimed a
resident of the ;village in the person
of Mrs. 'Charles 'Manning on Sunday
evening, April 1110th. Deceased ...hati
been a resident of this village for 218
years. Previous to that they ha.d
farmed on the iliOth con., -Rullett,
where Charles ;Vodden now resides.
For many Yeers Mrs. 'Manning had
not enjoyed good health and for the
past ten years had ibeen icoofined to a
wheel chair and For the last 14 months
was ;bedfast until death released her.
She had .home her infirmity with a
great deal of ,patience and cheerful-
ness. She will be greatly missed by
her close friends. She leaves to mourn
her loss her hueband, two daughters,
Mrs. Stanley Lyon and Mrs. !Joseph
Shaddick, alt of Rullett Tp., and two
brothers. Mr. Henbert Mogridge, Au-
burn, and 'Edwin -ivlo.gridge of 'Whit-
tier, Calif, Two sisters predeceased
her many years ago. The ;funeral ser-
vice was held on Wednesday, April
113th, 'from the 'United Church, follow-
ing a brief service from her home,
which was conducted ;by Rev. A. W.
Gardiner. Pailbearers were Messrs.
Fred Shobbrook, Chas. Watson, Win.
'Govier, Willis Mountain, Rolm yang-
blutt and ;Newman ;Garrett .Inferment
in the Union Cemetery, Blyth. The
sympathy of the community is ex-
