On Wednesday last the Wiir Veter-
ans held their annual picnic in Clan
Gregor Park, Bayfield. Hundreds of
veterans of the Great War with theft.
families were present. The affair was
sponsored by 'the Huron Branch of
the Canadian Legion. Music was sup-
plied ..by the Clinton Band.
A long list of sports was run off
in the afternoon and several ball
games were played. The Clinton girls
played against a picked team from
other places losing to a score to 20-
11. Later refreshments were served
on long tables placed under the trees.
In the evening a football game be-
tween Carlings and an all-star -team
of the Huron League was won by the
Londoners. The score .being 2-1. The
teams were: All -Stars: Goal, C. Fer-
guson; backs, Higgins, Sangster;
hall backs, Percy Little, Rutherford,
Thompson; forwards, 'Weston, •Wat-
son, Steiss, Carter, Wilson.
