iting the lady's parents, Mr. and

Mr. Frank Bawden has recovered suf-
ficiently to leave the 'hospital,
where he has been for some time
and is staying with his sister, Mrs.
Streets,
Miss Dorothy Watts, has been, holi-
daying at her home in town, as her
sehool has been closed for two
weeks owing to the epidemic of
paralysis.
Mr. J. J. Corless, Burgessville, Dr.
C. V. 'Corless of Tillsonburg, Mrs.
A. T. Walker of Burgessville and
Mrs, R. N. Palmer of Toronto were
guests of Mr. and Mrs, M. T. Cor-
less on Sunday.
Mr. A. J. Grigg, Mr. and Mrs. E. R.
Bell and Mr. Roy Grigg of Toron-
to and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Grigg
were guests of Mrs, E G Saville,
on Tuesday, while in town for Mrs.
Grigg's funeral.

On Sunday, October 24th, Rev. Wi-
ley of Benmiller will occupy the pul-
pit at Glace church at 3 o'clock. -Sun
day School at 2 o'clock. Rev. R. M.
Gale will conduct anniversary services
at Benmiller.
SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY
SERVICES
On Sunday, Oct. 31st, the 10th an-
niversary of the opening of Grace
United Church will be held. Rev.
Charles D. Cox of Sprucedale, a for-
mer Porter's Hill boy, will be the
speaker at 10.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. A
tablet in memory of the pioneer wor-
kers of the church will be presented at
the morning service. We. are looking
forward with a great deal of inter-
est to the music which is to be pre-
sented by the old time boys and girls
of this place. A special thankoffer-
ing will be asked for to wipe off the
debt of the church.
Miss Isobel Woods spent a week
with friends near Varna and attend-
ed the fowl supper.
The John Harris family visited.
friends near Sarnia recently.
Mr. Allen Betties. and son., Alvin,
John Torrance, Reed Torrance and
Jim' Young attended the plowing
match at Fergus last Thursday.
