THIEVES BREAK. INTO STORE
Sneak thieves were busy in the
village on Tuesday night. They
broke into Mr, George Baechtler's
store and helped themselves freely
to tobacco, cereals, and canned goods.
They apparently were fond of cheese,
as they had cut off a large slice, but
forgot it in their haste. As for
canned goods, they were connoiseurs,
choosing the hest of everything and
all the delicacies.
Mr. Sante Wideombe. Local manag-
er of the store, found the lock had
been pried open when he went to
ouen the store' on Wednesday morn -
tee. The thieves also brolce the lock
off. E. A. Featherston's: gas pump
and drained between 4 and 5 gallons
from the tank. The police are inves-
tigating.
