Reunited
'Sister and brother, Mrs. J. F. Sod -
.en of Toronto, and William Magee,
'of Ohaton, Alta., met in Edmonton af-
• ter' a separation of 50 years—and they
did not know each other, it was learn..
ed yesterday.
"Flow could I?" Mr. Magee de-
manded when speaking of the meet-
ing Saturday. "When I left the old
. home at Blyth, Ont:, she was just a
child going to school.
"Anti I didn't remember much a-
bout him because I was just a girl,
and not very old," said Mrs. Soden,
who went west on a pleasure trip.
Several other members of the fam-
ily also had a reunion with Mrs.
Soden but they had seen each other
during the span of 50 years. But in
the half century since Mr. Magee
went West he had never been back to
Ontario and Mrs. Soden had never
visited Western Canada.

Mrs.• ,john Hunter of Clinton is

eration,, at the home of Misses A. M.
and E. J. Stirling.
Mrs, , J. Watson and babe of

tage in the village after having spent

hew, Dr, J. R. Jowett, Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs, E. Weir of London is visiting
her sister, Mrs. J W. Tippet.
Rev. R. M. Gale returned home on

don Conference of the United Church,
Windsor.
Mrs. M. Cole and babe returned to
thein' home in Lansing, Mich., on Sun-
day with Mr. Cole, after having visit-
ed her mother, Mrs. G. W. King,

Rev. and Mrs. F. H. Paull of Wind-

Woods on Monday. They left on
Tuesday morning for Sarnia where
Mrs. Paull was the special speaker
at the Deanery W. A. meeting.
Mrs. M. Fraser of W. William is
visiting her brother, Mr. Lewis Thom-

Mr. Wm. McDonl inet with a pain-
ful accident on Wednesday morning
when working for the Storms Con-
tracting Company. He was helping
lift a very heavy piece of machinery
which fell, gouging a pieee of flesh
out of one reg, He was taken imme-
diately to Goderieh Hospital. •
Mr's, R. H. G. Gairdner and Miss
Betty of London carne on Tuesday ev-
ening to spend the week at their
home in the village.
The death occurred at the Alexan-
dria and Marine Hospital, Goderich,
on May 29th, of Miss \Vilshaw, fol-
lowing a lengthy illness. The late
Miss Wilshaw was born near Crewe,

Shorthorn Breeders Hold
Picnic
The Perth -Huron Shorthorn Club,
for which Mr. Win. Waldie is Presi-
dent, is holding a Breeder's Picnic in
Queen's Park, Stratford, on Tuesday,
June 15th.
Dr. G. I. Christie, President of the
O.A.C. and W. A. Dryden, prominent
Shorthorn breeder and Manager of
the Royal Winter Fair are to be the
guest speakers. Picnic dinner will be
served at 12.00 o'clock standard time,
and will be followed by a speaking
program and sports for everybody.
The officers of this newly formed
breed association extend a most cor-
dial invitation to all who are inter-
ested, to join with then on the occa-'
sion of their first picnic.

We are sorry to Iearn Mrs. Adam
•Nicholson is in Scott Memorial Hospi-
ital with an injured back. We hope
for a speedy recovery.
Mr. Joe Nicholson of Ethel called
on friends in the village on Monday.
Cheshire, England, in 1874. In 1913
she cane to Canada to relatives at
Walkerton, and in 1014 she came to
Bay:field as housekeeper for Mr, D. C.
Galbraith, where she has been until
she became ill and was taken to the
hospital soiree five months ago. The
funeral service was held at Walker-
ton on May 31st, at the home of her
niece, Mr's, A, Dermic, and interment
made in Walkerton cemetery.
