Clerk instructed to reply, Councillor Rathwell, was delegated to look into Miss Fanny Salkeld's complaint re roads around Blue Wat- er Beach. Treasurer Salkeld reported receiv- ing $2458.00 subsidy .due' under The Dept. of Highways statement, A petition was received from some ratepayers of S. S. No. 11 and S. S. No. 3 asking to be assessed in S. S. No. 4. The clerk was instructed to send copies of the petition to both No. 11 and No. 3 schools. The pe- tition to be dealt with at next meet- ing Mr. W. R. Lobb was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Telephone Commission caused by the death of Mr.' W. J. Yeo. By -Law No. 3 to borrow money from the Royal Bank for current ex- penses was read a third time and passed. Mr. Fred Bell interviewed the council re crushed stone or gravel in the bin or .delivered. Cuninghame was in London on Friday and attended the funer- al of the late Rev. D. McCa>,nus. Mr. Kenneth Carter of Chatham spent the week -end with his par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Carter. Mr. Ross Carter, who' has been at his home for the Easter vacation, has returned to his teaching duties at Chatham. Miss Jean Plumsteel has returned to Elora after spending the Easter vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Plumsteel. Mr. Will Jackson and his sister, Miss Ruth Jackson of Toronto were in town on Saturday for the funer- al of the late Miss .Keane. Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Barker of To- ronto and Miss Beth Cartwright of Kitchener attended .the funeral of their aunt, the late Mrs. Argent. Mist Jennie Richardson, Windsor, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Richardson, Detroit, attended the funeral of their cousin, the late Mrs. Argent. Mr. and Mrs. McPherson and son; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dow of Cromarty visited at the home of Mrs. Snyder, Albert street, last Thursday. Mr. C. G. Middleton has been invited by the Archbishop of Toronto to the luncheon on Thursday, April 8th, for the members of the Pro- vincial Council. Mrs. Geo. Walker is in Hamilton this week, the guest of her sister, Mrs. Ed. Watson. Mr. and Mrs. Arch. McGugair of Palmerston were in Clinton last. Friday and attended the Masonic At -Home that evening. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Stothers, Miss Agnes and Master Stephen of Arthur were in Clinton last Thurs- day. Dr. and Mrs. L. Whitely visited' with Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Youngblutt on Sunday. Mr. Geo. Barr who has been quite in all winter is now able to take short walks which is quite encouraging. Miss E. Hudson of Streetsville spent the Easter holidays at the home 'of her aunt and uncle, Rev. A. W. and Mrs. Gardiner. The concert put on by the 'teen-age boys of the United Church S. S. was staged in Community Hall on Wed- nesday evening, March 30th. The program was excellent. The playlet, "The Lunch Counter," was quite am- using. The boys excelled themselves. The Blyth orchestra gave excellent music. Other numbers on the pro- gram were also very fine and fully enjoyed by all present.
