Old Goderich Township Citi- zen Honoured By Fellow Townsmen The following is an extract from a letter sent by J. B. Oliver, under- taker and friend of the late William Harrison, to his sister, Miss Clara Harrison of Clinton: "I am sending you a copy of the Northern Tribune, with the account of your brother's death. Mr. Yule, the editor, is from Lucknow and was well acquainted with your brother. I have personally known him for over twenty years. He was a most cap- able manager wherever employed. Your brother was taken down very suddenly with an attack of pneumonia and immediately removed to the 'Grande Prairie Hospital. All was done by friends (and he had plenty of them) that could be done. The Hospi- tal staff and nurses gave him the best of care, also the doctor, Dr. E. Little, who is one of the best." The following is from The Tribune: "William Harrison, widely known in the Grande Prairie district and fur- ther west, passed away at Grande Prairie on Thursday morning, Novem- ber 5th. Although he had been ailing for some six months, it was not thought that his condition was serious and his death came as a severe shock, to his many friends. "Billy," by which name he was known by his friends, was born near Goderich, Huron County, Ontario, and came to the Peace River in 1913, and homesteaded the land on - which Nor- man Moon and fainly are living in the' Bezanson district. . A blacksmith by trade, he took a keen interest in horses, and his op- inions were held high by the horse- men of this country. He was also well versed in the diseases of horses. Kind and genial by disposition, Bil- ly Harrison made friends wherever he went, In the early days his cabin was not only open to his friends but to any travellers who happened to come along. An old friend summed up the char- acter of the man when he said: `Billy Harrison was a roan wherever you found him." Nothing more could be added to this expression of apprecia- tion. The body was sent to his old home for burial on Tuesday night's train. The following old friends went to the station to pay their last respects to one whom they had learned to love and respect: Mr. and Mrs. Pete Don- ohue, Mr. and Mrs. Ewart Ellis, Gor- don.
