WFNGHAMl1—Increasing+ numbers
of deer are being sighted in the
neighboring townships. In and
around Mud Lake . farmers report
several droves of deer. One farmer
on the ninth concession of Wawanosh
township stated that he saw six deer
file across the road into a swamp.
A farmer in Morris township relat,
ed that one morning a doe and fawn
were in 'his garden, and that when he
he opened the door they bolted away.
The only reason that can be givenfor
the unusual number of deer is the
reported presence of wolves north of
here, who are chasing the deer south.
