the June meeting of the London Road
Club. The meeting opened by sing-
ing "Believe ine if all those endear-

ed to purchase new song books. A
letter of thanks for flowers was re-
ceived from Mrs. Fred. Slotnan. The
roll call was answered by "How I

Mrs. J. Davidson conducted an inter-

was the winner of the first prize,
consolation awards ands going to Mrs: W.
Falconer and Mrs. Henderson. Af-
ter singing another old favorite song,

Book. During the meeting the an-

date set is July 21st., both dinner
and supper will be included. All
who attend ate to include squeezed
and sweetened lemons in their picnic

inspiring discourse delivered by out
pastor, Rev. 3, W. Herbert, on Sun-
day last. The anthems rendered by
the choir were very sweet, the solo
being taken by Miss Gay Whitmore,
and the duetby the Misses Gay Whit-
more and Reta Cudmore

40 Dead In. Train Crash
When a train crashed through a
weakened trestle on Monday it was
feared that 40 lives were lost, The
accident occurred ina flooded creek
area in Montana, Twenty-two of the
bodies were recovered and the rest
could be seen in the partly submerg-
ed cars, At least sixty -fire were in-
jured. The tragedy was reported as
being the worst in the United States

DESTRUCTION OF RAGWEED
The Government of Ontario have is-
sued a circular letter, calling attention
to the increase in growth of Ragweed,
which is estimated to be the cause of
eighty per cent of hay fever, which
is so distressingly prevalent in our
midst,
This noxious weed should be de-
stroyed before the plant begins to
flower in late June or early July.
, The second growth of stalk should
tgain be cutdown in late August or
'early September.
