There: was no horses when the family came to this district, oxen were used and the country was nearly all bush. Mr. Cullis was the 'first to own a team -of horses. The mill was burned in 1901: the Cullis family then disposed ofthe property. A concerted effort on the part of civic and military poliee is at present being made to rid the streets of Goderich of rowdyism and drunkene nese, particularly on pay nights and Saturday. This action follows a free- for-all street fight here some weeks ago. Since the first of this month 13 men have been arrested: or summoned to court on charges of intoxication, disorderly conduct, loitering, etc. Some have served jail terns, some have, paid fines and others have had cases adjourned.
