Erecting of a Collegiate
Institute Building.
WHEREAS it has been made to
'appear desirable that a new Colleg
late Institute ''building should '.be
erected in the Town of Clinton, and
to meet; the cost thereof that -the suer
of eighty thousand'dollars (550;000:)
should be borrowed on the credit' of
the Gorporatiott.
AND WHEREAS in order thereto
it will be necessary to issue deben-
tures og the Town of Clinton• for the
sum •of, ;ii0,000.00 as hereinafter pro -
AND _WHEREAS ` it 'is desirable
that the said debentures, shall be pay-
able in thirty years and shall bear in-
terest at the rate of five per centum
per annum, payable half yearly, and
shall have coupons for such',interest
attached. ' '
AND" WHEREAS the amount of
the whole rateable -property of the
said Town according to the last re-
vised a'ssessmen't roll is the sum of
$828,375.00.
AND WHEREAS the amount of
the existing debenture debt of the
-Corporation, exclusive- of 'peal im-
provement debts secured by special
rates or assessments is 5162,235.60,
and no part -of the principal or inter-

this By-law is passed,and may bear

the date of issue.
3. The debentures auto both prin-
cipaland interest shall be made pay-
able at the office of the Treasurer of
the Town of Clinton, -and shall be'
signed by the Mayor; and `Treasurer
of th' said municipality and shall.
have attached'thereto the Corporate
Seal of the Town of Clinton...The de-
bentures shall have attadhed' to thein
coupons for the payment of the inter-
est, which coupons shall bo signed by
the Treasurer' of the Town of 'Clinton.

stamped, lithographed or engraved

4. That upon the passing of this
