A : proper and appropriate, not a fantastic name, is -a good advertise- nient in business,_but it is also a val- uable social asset. Just to say that; one lives in Goderlch township, Ifni - lett, Tuckersinith or Stanley- is vague and unsatisfactory when describing one's place of residence. To say that one's home is "Pine Tree Farm," "Sunnyside Farin," or somesues-des- criptive, t=ame sounds, very much Moro slibisfactory., Then, too, if the. farm is properly ;named the chances are that it will be kept up better, that it, will bebeautified and cared .; for. A name for the farm and use of it on stationery and in overt' way Possible would enhance the value of -the farm in most cases. • 4 STANLEY Miss, Jarde McGregor of Cleveland, Ohio, is visiting friends on the 2nd •concession. Any unusual condition.. of one part or organ of the human body May result in the upset o£ other or-- gans, such as the, ' heart, with per-' haps some permanent damage. Pain in the. region of. the :heart does not always fn'ean heart disease. It may be .due, to some heart -condit tigm,:but',it..is much• more fr=equently caused . by, some condition .of the stomach, :such as improper digest- ion of food. Usually •the first symp- tom of the 'heart's being below par ..is shortness of breath ,on. slight ex: ertions. ' ' In old age,' ,it is not unusual to find that the heart is not doing. its Work as well as it did. This ie part of the,•gene?;al wearing, out of tate tis- anes,;and means that life must be so regulated •that neither at work nor at play is the heart given more to do 'than it can accomplish, without exhaustion. Persons,. young, .or old, who have a weakened or damaged heart, can live long lives of use- fulness, providing they avoid doing such things, as heavy lifting, which throw a sudden strain on the heart. They must also avoid those activities which cause shortness of breath; or pain, always stopping imknediateJly to rest when symptoms appear, 'Ex- ercise in the form of work' or play which' does' not cause symptoms is' usually of behcfit. '' The most common cause of heart disease in young people is infebtion: The 'germs which settle down in' diseased tonsils, adenoids' and teeth very • often .travel through the body They may, and very frequently do attack tire' heart. The heart may also suffer from the germsand the poisons produced by the germs in such diseases as dip, theria, scarlet fever and influenza. Damage to the heart is a Comparatively common re- sult of acute rhemnatism. Syphilis is also an infection whieh is very liable to attack the heart and blood vessels. The removal of infected parts, such as diseased tonsils and, the avoidance of infection are the basis of the pre- vention of heart =disease.
