Hon. Mr. Forke reminds timid peo-
ple that ?8 per cent. of Canada's pop-
elation was born' in Canada, 12 per

,don Advertiser:
If Hon. Mr. Forke would just tell
us now what percentage of the eiti-
✓ zens of the Western Provinces were
"born • in foreign countries it would be
very .interesting and, probably also,
somewhat surprising. Those who are
'""timid" are not timid about the pre-
ponderance of foreign born in the.
whole of Canada. Ontario and the
Eastern Provineds have a healthy
majority of 'British, stock, but we are
not anxious to have our rich western
-lands made over into small Russias,
Finlands and Germanys. We have
no objection to a large influx of set-
tlers from foreign countries, but we
need to • take care that Canadian i -

flourish -4n this new land. c
