The funeral' of -the late Elizabeth J. Snowden, daughter of the late Mr. and Mp:a. Bernard Snowden of 'Stanley township, who pased to rest on January 7th, was held on Wed- nesday of last weelc. He was librarian of the school for twelVe years and Bible class teacher for six, then Sunday school superintendent for a little ov- er twenty-five years. • He said the success attained had been largely due to the help he had receiyed at home and the hearty co-opera,tion of the teachers and ,, officers and scholars, and while he had felt at times it was quite a responsibility, yet he never felt it a burden, as he had derived'a good deal of benefit and pleasure in the performance of his duties. And that during his twenty-five years as superintendent he had the exper- ience of seeing a number of those who were in the beginners class grow up and remain members of the school, and their 'children are now ill the primary classes. And while he had resigned froin the superintendency he would remain a member of the Sun- day school and help when and where needed. Mrs. Tebbutt was the second daugh- ter of Mreand Vas, FranCis Sheppard of Kilkenny, Ireland, and she came to Canada at the age of eighteen. Mese Tebbutt was a member, of Hohnesville 'United, formerly Metho- dist, church. had a, life membership in tho W. 111. S. and always took an active poet in church work.
