er from Collingwood on Friday last

Emmerson Ball, was formerly a
member of the teaching staff of the
Clinton Collegiate`Institute and has
for Sofia' years been principalof the
Collingwopd Collegiate.
Mr, and Mrs." James A. Haber of
Romeo, Mich:, spent several days
during the ': past week in Clinton,
having come over. to attend the fun-
_ eral of Mrs. Haber's father, the late
Thomas I4['ason, They returned to
Romeo yesterday, accompanied by
Mrs. Mason, and Mr. Elgin :Mason.
The, latter two will return to Clin- 1
ton :again next week.

til paste can be formed. Crumble 2 cups Shortening, 1/x cup
' Brown Sugar, 2 cups fine oatmeal, 2cups flour, %- teaspoon
soda, i/3 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Grease a square
- tin and • sprinkle s crumbs evenly. Pour Date mixture on. : /,
this and cover with rest of crumbs. Bake until nicely brown-. '
ed. Leave in' tin until cold and ,cut into squares. This will
make 82 squares. .
