I've come to the conclusion that a
robin has a good deal of perseverance
a good deal of the "if at first you
don't succeed, try, try again" spirit
Last week I told of the robin which
was so anxious to build her nest on
my window sill.. Well, after a strug-
gle lasting .several days, nearly a
week, in fact, in which that nest -in
the4inaking was tossed off that win -
clow sill two or three times a day,
articles placed on it to disc6urage the
little homebuilder, the busy robin being
"shooed" away and .scolded, what was

there' was Mrs , Robin; twirling about,
shaping 'her• nest, and looking at me
with bright eyes as :ouch as to say,
"You see, I won out.!"
Well, I gave up. >= The robin had.
won. It is going to be a nuisance. It
will be impossible to raise that lulus

are rearedand ready to fly: I don't'
know how 1 shall be able to enjoy'tny
Sunday morning sleep with a nestful
of hungry little robins chirping away
within two feet of my' head, not to
speak of other mornings, for I have
no' doubt the Robin family are in the.
habit of rising earlier than I any
morning. I do hope this particular
pair are thrifty and will prove good
providers.,
But whatever the. conse-

present. Somebody was consoling
me with the information that robins
come back 'year after year, rep

I may have a good chance to study

W,pt. Alton, who teaches in the

The unfortunate man was alone in the

It's for You to Say --
5, -
when a cheque for $1O,000
is to be delivered to you!
Cheques for $10,000 issued to persons of average
means are becoming more common.
It's not so hard to accumulate $10,000 either—if
you go about it in the right way.
The old way was to put by $100 each six months
and let it accumulate at 5% compound interest—
'then in twenty-five years you would have almost
$10,000—but you know how hard it is to save cash
regularly when there are so many attractive ways in
which to spend it.
Moreover, if you 'are able to save $100 each six
months, with ordinary investments you must always
take the risk of losing it.
Be surd you—
Have Something to Show for
the Money You Earn!
Many people have adopted a certain Canada Life
plan because it makes the saving of money attrac-
tive, systematic and profitable.
By this plan you can arrange that any sum of
money you would like to have, will be delivered to
you . in cash, at any age you desire. You can be
certain' that $2,000; $5,000; $10,000 or more will
be paid to you when you reach the age of retire-
ment—from 60 to 65—or to anyone you may name
if you should die before your retirement fund is
completed.
