son is at Copper Cliff for the sum-
mer but takes up his duties on the
staff of the Whitby College in, the

Mr. Malcolm 1Veefarlane of Stanley
has purchased the old Rumball farm
on the 14th from Vete -I+. H, Powell
and gets possession in the fall. Mr.
Powell took this farm in exchange
for another from has son-in-law, Mr.
Clarence Potter, last fall. It should
make a comfortable home for Mle.
and Mrs. Macfarlane.
Mr. Henry Snyder has disposed of
his farm on the 16th to Mr. Frank
Jones and held a sale of stock, im-
plements, etc. on ThErsday last. Mi.
Snyder will go to Goderich to reside
and regret is felt at the breaking up
of this home.
The crops are looking fine in this
township. A bunch o£ oats grown on
Mr. Fred Han1y's farm, the 8th
concession, which is worked by W.
Williamson, measured 4 . feet
10 inches in length and is well head-
ed. There ought to be no starvation
o£ stock this winter.
