Interesting and profitable services
were held in the United church last
Sunday. Morning service was con-
ducted by Rev. Mr. Pinnock of To-
ronto, who had spent 35 years as a
missionary in Africa. He told of the
great work that the•Bibie Society
was doing. Over 10 million copies
of the Bible were printed last year.
The Bible is a book that never grows
old. It is still and always the "best
seller." The evening service was
conducted by Rev. Dr. Martain of
St. Thomas, who preached the annual
sermon to the Oddfellows, his sub-
ject being the giving of alms. He
said the easiest thing 'we have to
give is our money. God wants our-
selves.
The Sacrament of the Lord's Sup-
per will be observed next Sunday,
June 11th at the morning service,
Preparatory service on Friday even-
ing at 8 p.m.
Master Allin Hill, who underwent
an- operation in Seaforth Memorial
Hospital a few weeks ago and then
contracted typhoid fever, was able
to be removed to his home this week.
His many friends hope to hear of his
continued speedy recovery.
