illness,
The large attendance at the sac-
red concert, held on Monday evening
in the Baptist Church, under the
auspices of the Ladies' Aid, enjoyed
a varied program of vocaland in-
strumental music and read.iugs. The
chair was occupied by the pastor,
Rev. Mr. Sherman who exemplified
excellent aptitude. Although talent
was present front Clinton, Carlow
and Westfield, one of the best en-
joyed numbers tyere viven by four
local singers, who sang under
the name of "The Sunshine Quar-
tette." At the close of the program
the man in overalls appeared, who in-
timated that if the patches were 're-
moved considerable hidden wealth
might . be revealed. Busy scissors
opened the many patches and soon a
collection plate was filled with coins
and. `bills. The proceeds front the con,
cert and overall patches amounted to
850, which will be used to redecorate
the church.
