Londesboro 6 -Brussels 5
The first.gaune was .played in Lon-
desboro on Monday; February 17, and
was won by the home team by the
close 'margin of 6-5, with Radford
the big gun for Londesboro perform-
ing the hat trick. Tunney, Shaddick
and Carter notched the other three.
For Brussels, Roller with three and
McDonald and Ring, were the marks-
men. This was a very clean game
(which surprised everyone) with no
penalties, making it an easy night
for Referee "Farmer" McFadden.
The same night Fordwich upset the
dope by taking Gorrie 7-5 on Gorrie's
home ice. The same four teams went,
at it again in Brussels and Fordwich
on Wednesday night.
Brussels 7-Londesboro 3
In Brussels, the 'home team with
their backs to the wall and facing
elimination went all out and shellaek-
ed the Londesboro lads to the tune
of 7-3. Bolles was again the leading
shavipshooter for Brussels with three
goals, while Willis with two and Rut.
ledge and Ring scored the remainder.
Millar, Jack Snell and Shaddick con-
nected for Londesboro. This game
was slightly rougher than the pre-
ceding one as the bad feeling between
the teams began to show.
At the same time Gorrie was even-
ing up their series with Fordwieh.,
drubbing then 6-3 with Dave Neilson,
their ace cetitreman, clicking for four
goals.
Londesboro 6-Brussels•5
The final game of the Londesboro-
Brussels series was played in Wing -
ham arena on Friday night before
the largest crowd of the season. With
elimination facing both teams, the
first, period was played cautiously,
with the period ending 1-0 for Lon-
desboro on a goal by Jack Snell. In
the second period with Shaddick of
Londesboro in the sin bin for what
the ref. called cross-checking, Brus-
sels rammed in two quick goals, and
added another when Londesboro was
them in the face, the Londesboro
lads turned on theheat and 'rammed
in four .goals to pull the game and I
the series out of the fire. The game
ended with Londesboro hanging onto
their one -goal lead of 6-5, and with
Brussels trying desperately to knot
the score.
Jack Snell, besides being the best
man on the iee, was credited with
scoring five goals. Jack Lee notched
the other one. For Brussels, .Rolfes
again performed the hat trick, King
and Rutledge getting single markers.
There were seven penalties handed
out by Referee "Fanner" McFadden,

mediate "B" teams completed their
group schedule in Clinton Lions
Arena last evening, the visitors com-
ing from behind and scoring a last-
ditch 8-7 victory with only ten sec-

Stratford now meets Georgetown
at Georgetown tomorrow evening, in
an "A" piaydown game, with the re-
turn match in Stratford next week,
while Clinton Colts await the result
of the ;Seaforth-,Clinton R. and C.
Schoolgroup semi-final which finishes
in Clinton Lions Arena tonight.
It was sweet revenge for Stratford
in view of their overtime defeat by
the same score here last week.
Colts started out like a house' afire
last night, Harry McEwan and Doug
Bartliff denting the twine very early
to give the locals a 2-0 lead. .Then
Frank McEwan received a cut over
the eye and had to retire for repairs.
McGee, shifty visitor, banged in two
in short order to tie it up, but Bob
Draper, on a rebound from Harry
McEwan, pat Colts up one. the count
standing 3-2 for Clinton at the first
breather.
Each team counted four tines in
the 'heavy -scoring second frame, Ken
Miller boosting Colts' lead to two
right at the opening. Arnold cut
this lead to one, but Draper and H.
McEovan counted, making it 6-3,
Rohfritsch naged in one on a sharp
angle shot, but Colquhoun came right
back. From then on, Stratford gar-
nered four straight counters, two in
the second and bwo in the third, Ken
Rohfritsch scoring the winner.
