OBITUARY
C. B. ANDERSON
Rev. 'Andrew Lane will conduct the
funeral services this atm:noon for
Charles Bruce Anderson who passed
away Tuesday evening in ;Olinton
Public Hospital in his 66th year. Pall-
bearers will be ISam Scott, William
reIlcDowell, James Aitcheson, and
Thomas Mee/linen, Seaforth and Wil-
liam Cook, and John Plumtree, Olin -
ton. Interment will take place in
Clinton ;Cemetery.
Mr, Anderson was born at Anton
Mills, Simcoe County, on May 4. 1881,
a son of the late Charles Anderson
and Matilda Pentland. He was the
last surviving member of a family
of seven.
ISeaforth en July 6, 1908, he
was married to Mary Dodds; MoMil-
lian. Following their marriage they
lived in Seaforth, Toronto, Detvoit,
Saskatchewan and for the past eight
years have resided in ;Clintoh, follow-
ing his trade as a carpenter.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the
Orange Lodge in Stratford and was
identified with the United Church.
Death came in Clinton Public Hos-
pital following an illness of one month
and nine days.
Surviving beside his widow are one
daughter, Virginia, Airs. John Ferg-
usson, Detroit, and two grandsons,
Bruce Ian and John Ferguson Hr.
WILLIAM C. .BEZZO
Funeral services were held on Wed-
nesday afternoon for William Cheater
Bezzo,; who passed away in 'Westmin-
ster Hospital, London, Sunday ;Sept
8, in his 58th year. Although Mr.
Bezzo was Salvation Army in relig-
ion, there being no corps here, the
service was tonducted by Rev. And-
rew Lane of Wesley-Wiliis United
Church. The service was under the
direction of Canadian Legion Branch
140. Interment was in Clinton Ceme-
tery.
Mr. Bezzo was born in Clinton, Jae -
nary 6, 1889, a son of the late Mr.
and IVIrs;. Isaac Baez°. He was the
first from Huron ;County to enlist in
World War 1914-18 and served over-
seas with the first division. By trade
he was a piano finisher and was em-
ployed with the Doherty Piano Co.,
later the ;Sherlock 'Manning Co., as
long as his health permitted.
Bezzo had not enjoyed good
health for a number of years but had
really just been ili since May.
On February 3, 1919, he was united
in marriage to Lucy Mothers who
survives alon,g with four sons -Wil-
liam, London; Fred, Centralia, and
Douglas and Wilfred at home; three
daughters, Myrtle, 'Wars. Keith Quack-
enbush, Fonthill; Ada, IVIrs, Stephen
Cook, St. Thomas; Evelyn, Airs. Or-
mond Alcock, Goderich. and two
grandchildren. One brother, Walter,
London, and one sister, IVIrs. Myrtle
Robertson, Williams, Iowa, also sur-
vive.
AIRS. HUGH W. GORDON
Following a funeral service in
Whitney Funeral Chapel, Seaforth,
Sunday afternoon, September 8, eon -
ducted by Rev. H. V. Workman, inter-
ment took place in the family plot in
Maitland Barrie Cemetery, Seaforth,
for Mrs. Hugh W. Gordon, who died
at her home, lot 21, concession 6, Me-
Killop Township, on Friday, Septem-
ber 6, after a very short illness.
Mrs. Gordon, the former Mary Jane
Henderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
George Henderson, was married Apeil
3, 1913, to Hugh Gordon, and resided
in McKillop all her life. Mrs, Gordon
was a member of the Noithsicle Unit-
ed Church, Seaforth.
Surviving are one son, Ross at
home; three brothers, Min and Jim
Henderson, 'Seaforth, and. Herbert,
Russeldaie; ancl three sisters, Mrs.
Robert McClure, Benmiller, Mrs.
Archie Lemencl, McKillop, and Mrs.
Alex Wright, Tuckersmith,• also her
mother who is still quite active at the
age of 92. Mr. Gordon ptedeceased
her by a number of years.

MRS. GORDON W. HARWOOD
A large crowd of sorrowing friends
and relatives corning from all walks
of life, gathered at the Brophey Fun-
eral Home, Goderieh, on Saturday last
to pay their last respects to Mrs.
;Gordon W. Harwood. It was one of
the largest funerals held in Goderieh
for quite some time. Services were
conducted by Rev. L. II. Turner, God-
erich, assisted by Rev. Andrew Lane,
Clinton. Interdent took place in
Maitland •Cemetery, Goderich.
Pallbearers were A. H. Erskine, W.
Heitman, and J. J. MacEwan, God-
erich, Robert .Sowerby and William
Fuller, Godeeieh Township, and J.
A. 1SM:ter, Clinton. Flower -bearers
were two nephews, Robert and Jack
Needham, A. richborne, G. MacLeod,
Goderich, E. S'owerby, G. Ginn, 0.
Edwards, rand R. Fuller, Goderich
Township, E Johnston, Sarnia, and
K. C. Elliott, Clinton.
Mrs. Harwood, the former Bertha
Aiico Lorymire, was born August 20,
1899, in Henfryn, Huron County. She
received her early education in Perth
County and then attended Goderich
Collegiate Institute and later Clinton
Business College.
Following her marriage on June 5,
1920, she lived for a time in North-
ern Ontario and about 23 Years ago
returned to Goderich where she had
lived on a farm just south of the
town. She was very active in the Red
Cross throughout the war years and
was known to be very much interest-
ed in any community activity. She
was a valued member of the WAIS of
Union United church and had been
the faithful organist of the church
for over 20 years.
Death came early Thursday morn-
ing, September 5, in Alexandra Mar-
ine and General Hospital, Goderich,
after an illness of over a year's
duration b
Surviving beside her husband are
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Long-
mire, Goderich ; one daug.hter, Mary,
Mrs. Benson Sutter, Clinton; two
sons, Maurice W., Thamesville, and
G. Melville, at home; aed one grand-
daughter, Miss Diane Harwood,'
Thamesville. One sister, Mrs, Beg.
Needham, and one ;brother, William,
both of Goderich also survive. One
brother, leg, predeceased her in
March of this year.
