'still all tied up in their WOAA grou
semi-final softball series, the team
having played a ten -inning 15-15 drae
on the Victoria Park diamond, God
erich, last .night.
Each team had won at home. Venu
of the fourth and deciding game had
not been decided at press time, but the
match may take place in Clinton qr on
a neutral diamond, the winner to meet
Wingham Hurons for the group
championship.
Richwears piled up an early lead
but it melted away before a five -run
onslaught in, the eighth, with the tie-
ing run counting the last of the ninth.

After the teams had finally decided
to play overtime, Bert White walked,
stole second, and scored on an over-
throw at third. Then thp argument
.started, Goderich arguing something
or other about the umpire talking to
catcher Serinegeour.
Play resumed after about ten min-
utes. Draper walked and stole sec-
ond. Ross flied to deep left, and
Draper was called out going into third
on the throw-in. Glew walked and
pranced home when Neilans' ball slip-
ped through third. Hawkins walked,
but Miller grounded out, short to first.
In the last of the tenth IVIero singled
to centre. Worsell was out, Hawkins
to MacDonald. McNeil Went out, Ross
to MaeDonald. Murphy's homer to
deep left centre scored Mere ahead of
him, tieing up the game once again.
Scriangeour bounded out to MacDon-
ald. The boys seemed to have enough
and umpire Thorndike called the ganie

Clash at School Tonight

clash in the first game of their
CWOAA group semiefinal baseball
series at R. and C. S. diamond at
6.15 tonight, the winner to meet
St. Marys or Lucknow for the
group title.
The teams were all set to play
their diret game at Goderich Tues-
day evening. The teams were
there ready to play, the stands
were full, but alae, no umpires
arrived, and neither team would
consent to local umpires,.
The fans—several hundred of
them, Including many from Clin-
ton—were given their money by
an honest Goderich management
But some of the fans weren't
quite so honest—for it is reported
that more money was paid out
than had been 'paid in. Such is
life—and baseball!
St. Marys Qualifies
For WOAA Group Final
St. Marys defeated Lueknow Inter-
mediates in the first game of the semi,:
finals of the WOAA at Lueknow Fri-
day evening 9-7. Lucknow led 7-0 at
the end of six innings, hut St. Marys
scored five runs in the seventh and
four in the ninth to win the game.
Lueknow played at St. Marys last
evening, in the second game of two
out of three series. St. Marys winning
14-2, and out -hitting Lucknow 10-7.
Turner twirled for the winners.
St. Marys now meets either R. and
C. S. or Goderich for the griep title. If

Several rinks have been taking in
the various tournaments in the dist-
rict during the past week. Several
were, in Stratford on aVlonelay. Two
ladies rinks were in Wingham yest-
erday playing for the King Trophy
Trebles, The trophy went to London
although the Clinton Ledies put on a
creditable showing.
62 rinks in all took part in Tip Top
Doubles Trophy Tournament in Sea -
forth yesterday, several from Clinton
being present. The team of Clarence
Rozell, skipped by (Roy Sperling won
the trophy and each will receive a
suit of clothes,.

green tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 pan.
All mezebers are urged td attend the
weekly jitneys as the club needs your

Young "Horse" Miller looked almost
as good behind the plate as G-oclerich's
starry "Scrim."
