6-1 in a WOAA Intermediate base-
ball game at Goderich Monday night.
Carrick struck out nine for Goderich
while Adams fanned seven for the
losers. Weber, Listowel, had the best
night at bat with four hits in four
trips to the plete.

Clinton Colts and Hensall broke
their early -season 9.-9 tie game and
decided which team •should finish first
in the Huron -Perth Intermediate
Baseball League when •they hooked
up in Community Park, Clinton,
Thursday evening last.
Trailing for most of the nuttch,
Colts staged a terrific eighth -inning
rally which netted them six runs and
went on to win the match 14-12.
It was a match of home rune, there
being no less than five by Clinton
players, and one by Balfour, Hensall.
Three of °Racing came in a row in
the fourth, by Ken Miller, Alex Ken-
nedy and Laurie Colquhoun. Bab
Draper's homer in the eighth, with
Colquhoun on base, followed by Fred
MacDonald's four -bagger, tied the
count at 11-11 in the eighth.
Hensall tallied one run in the ninth
but the rally came too late.

Clinton Richwears played their last
scheduled game with Goderich in the
WOAA softball series in Community
Park here Tuesday evening, winning
by 8-2 in a match abbreviated bY
rain. It was one of the snanpiest
.s•oftball games of the season.
Gordon Ross was leading batter
with a triple, a double and four
singles in four dines at bat, while
Vanclerburgh had two doubles in
three trips.
Richwears play in Wingharn tomor-

Several teams played at the Wing -
ham Men's Troubles last Friday even-
ing. The team of W. ,Rozell and C.
Rozell won fifth prize.

filled the greens fox' the men's term-
nament on Monday evening. First
prize went to the Seam -tit rink skip-
ped by 14. Dale; second prize to the
Mitchell rink skipped by L. Hawes:
and third prize to the CRinton rink
skipped by 0. Rozell. The lady bovvi-
ers served refresbments.

Four teams of mixed doubles at-
tended the tournament in Goderich
on Tuesday evening.

This evening (Thursday) the jitney
will be held at 7.30. Prizes will be

Tie and Defeat Clinton
,Clinten Lions and Goderich Town-
ship girls' softball teams played two
games during the past week. The
teams, tied 6-6 in the match played at
Union School Friday evening, and
Goderich Township won 6-4 in the
game played in Community Park,
Clinton, Manday evening.

Friday's fixture was late in start-
ing because there was some misun-
derstanding regarding the venue.
Clinton girls waited here for God-
erich Tbiwnship, and vice versa. Fin-
ally, the teams managed to get in
four innings in the Township, the
Clinton girls leaving here by car at
8.30 pan.

Clinton Lawn Bowling Club staged
a very sulcessful rinks tournament on
the local greens Monday evening with
rinks fron-t Goderich, Mitchell, Ex-
eter, Seaforth, Wingham and Clinton
participating.
Prizes were won as follows:
First--Seaforth (Jack Hoatham,
James McDonald, Walter Willis.
Lorne Dale); Second — Miteliell
(Charles Brooks, Goldie McLaughlin,
Frank Russell, L.C. Hawes); Third—
Clinton (J. A. Sutter, "Cap" Cook,
