Many friends took the op- portunity of calling to wish a happy birthday and to express the wish that Mrs. Elgie will, be spared for many years yet. In spite of her advanced years, Mrs. Elgie is extremely smart and active. Anniversary Well Attended Very large audiences were present for the Young, People's Anniversary in Brucefield United Church Sunday, both morning and evening. Rev. R. Gordon Hazlewood, Walton, was, the guest speaker and gave two very earnest and inspiring sermons, choos- ing as his subjects, "Rejoice,„Ever- more" and "How to Have a Good Time." Mr. Hazlewood is always a .verywelcome guest in Brucefield Church. The Y. P. choir rendered. excellent music and were ably assisted by Miss Lois Whitney, S.eaforth, who sang "My Task" in the morning, and "Bless this House in the Evening." At the morning service a duet was sung 1by Mrs. A. Mustard and .Mrs, A. J. Burdge, "He Lifted Me." The choir also rendered very fine anthem, The basement was filled to capac- ity on Monday evening when the Wal- ton Young People presented their poly, "The Life of Riley."
