for the construction of two culverts; one at Fred
Thompson's hollow, Bayfield Line, 4 by 6 and 28 feet
long; one at the end of the Cut Line, Blue Water
Highway, 12 feet by 4 feet with 20 foot clearance.
Built to Provincial specifications. Council will
furnish both cement and steel.
A marked cheque for $150 to accompany each
tender.

Newlyweds Honored
A large crowd of friends and neigh-
bors met at the home of Mr. and Mrs.'
Wilfred Sanderson, newlyweds, on
Friday evening. Miss Edythe Beacom
read an address and a beautiful chair
was presented them .by Thomas Hag-
gitt and Roy Deer. Lunch was served.
Archie Seott, Malad, Idaho, is visit-
ing friends in this district. Mr. Scott
last visited here in 1928, He is a
brother of the late Mrs, William
Symington.
PORTER'S HILL
Community Club Meets
The regular meeting of Porter's
Hill Community Club took the form
of a social evening on Wednesday,
May 15, in the school. The meeting
was opened by the president, Mrs.
Don Harris, with a word of welcome.
Minutes of last meeting read by Mrs.
A. Lockhart. Quilt blocks were hand-
ed in.
James Stirling acting as chairman
for a program which included reading
by Miss P. Welding; violin number,
Cora Driver; duet, Phyllis Harris and
Molly Finlay; piano solos by Vera
Wilson and Eleanor Driver; solo by
Beverley Boyes, accompanied by his
mother; piano solo, Beverley Boyes;
solo, Mrs. Gordon Orr, accompanied
by her daughter; piano duet, Reta
Yeo and Molly Finlay. Jim Stirling,
a song accompanied by Mrs. Will
McGuire. Mrs. M. Driver entertained
with several violin selections.
Sandwiches and coffee were served.
The June mtetrng will be held at
Mrs A. Locki,art's home.
A baptismal service will be con-
ducted on Enmity, June 16, at Grtn.e
Church.
The president of the C'omnlunity

the Western Ontario Athletic Associa-
tion's intermediate baseball series,
along with Goderich, Listowel, Milver-
ton, Lucknow and St. Maryb.
All games, with the exception of
the playoffs, will start at 6.15 sharp
(DST). The first four teams will
make the playoffs with the first and
third and second and fourth place
teams meeting in a two -out -of -three
series. The winners will meet in a
three -game group championship series
The home team is to supply the
base umpire and the visiting team
the plate umpire.

To Hold Picnic June 14
The annual nicnic of the Huron
Old Boys' 9 sociation of Toronto will
be held on Friday afternoon, June 14,
at High Park, in the area lust south
