Baptist Ladies Aid
Hears Talk on Bolivia
Mrs. W.Aikenhead presented
the
Baptist
topic of the afternoon at the Ba p
Ladies Aid regular meeting Wednes-
day, April 24, at the church. She
brought the second in a series of
topics on Baptist 'Missions in Bolivia
and told many interesting facts about
climate and customs and the progress
of •evangelism there.
Mrs. William Cochrane presided and
led the worship period, assisted by
Mrs. J. Morgan who led in
prayer and Mrs. T. Leppington who
read the Scripture. , ' Mrs. Kennedy
read a poem entitled "I'11 Walk with
the Man in the Road." Little Misses
Faye Aikenhead and Joanne Tomlin-
son sang as a duet an Easter song
"Daffodils."
Mrs. •C. C. Anderson, president, con-
ducted the business. It was decided
to revert to the Tuesday evening
meeting time, beginning. in May. Mrs.
Pickett made allotments of Red Cross
work and would appreciate volunteers.
Red ',Shield to Clothe
Pair Dutch Twin Girls
The regular meeting of the Red
Shield was held on Tuesday, April
22, with 16 members present. The
president, Mrs. N. W. Trewartha was
in charge. Collection was $1.80. A
handkerchief and ribbon shower was
given for the six-year=old girl the
members are clothing. Ten handker-
chiefs and five hair ribbons were

Church held its April meeting at the
hc,me of Mrs. George Roberton on
Wednesday afternoon last, witn the
hostess presiding. After the call to
worship and a hymn, Mrs. Charles
.Twitchell read the Scripture Lesson
and Miss Sterling led he prayer.
The chapter from the study book
Olt "Africa" was ably taken by Mrs.
Fox. . In answer to the question,
"What do you mean when you speak
of a good village?" a pagan. African
replied, "A good 'village is one where
the head man and the elders are
respected by all; and where they too
have regard for all, and for the
children." "If there is even one Per-
son who belittles another person or
evokes harm then the village is
spoiled."
Mrs, J. A. Snider announced the

seven -or -eight-year-old twin girls..

been employed for the past three
years with the Toronto General Trusts
Corporation, Toronto, has accepted a
promotion and transfer to the branch
office in Ottawa.

spent the Easter weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest E. Hall, Toronto.
They were accompanied home by Miss
Sylvia Greenwood, Toteonto, who will
remain for the week.
John R. Cook, Public School Staff,
Ingersol, is spending his vacation with
his mother, Mrs. Luella Cook, and
his grandmother, Mrs. William Mc-
Clinchey. He also spent a couple of
days this week visiting his friend,
Kenneth Israel, Kitchener.

the special Easter services on Sunday
in Zurich, where the choir of the
Evangelical Church, beautifully rend-
ered the Cantata, "Makers of the
Cross." Mr. and Mrs. Corless were
