on the fact that they were all ex -

special tribute to Bert Gliddon and
"Mellie" Schoenha]s.
Coach G, Ross "Punch" McEwan
declared that Bert Gliddon deserved a
lot of credit. and that "Mellie"
was the best secretary we ever had."
The captain, Frank "Timnnez" NI
Ewan, said he was glad to play with
the -team and every player had done
his bit.
-• Keep City Teams Out
J. M. "Moe" Elliott, former man-
ager, stated that everyone was satis-
fied with- the successful year. Bert
Gliddon had done a wonderful job. He
maintained that cities should not be
allowed to compete in OHA Intermed-
iate "B", but this series 'should be
for towns of 5,000 and under, and such
teams should not be allowed to draw
from cities. He suggested also that
a player be allowed to play for his
nearest club by well travelled road
with a five -mile leeway permitted.
"This thing hes got nut of control'
and should be stooped," he declared.
The members of the team had given
everything they had and the team
was certainly a credit to the town.
By notion, the secretary was in-
structed to write a letter to the presi-
dent and secretary of the OHA em -

Coach Joe. Murphy's Goderich lads
put up, a game battle in Stratford'
Arena Thursday evening last but were
overwhelmed 8-3, and in the return
match .in Hanle Arena- Tuesday night,
lost by 6-3.
The Simcoe Country representatives,
coached by "Hap" Emms, former pro
player and coach, were too well drilled,
and knew a -little too much inside
hockey for' the Ccunty Towtters.
The new champions, repeating their
success of three •years ago, deserved
their victory, but the losers proved
themselves a mighty good little team
in defeat, . Their plays seemed to go
astray against the leech -like checking
of the Barrie,Youngsters, who made
the most of every opportunity.
In the first game at Stratford, the
score was tied 2-2 at the end of the
first period, and Barrie led 6-3 et the
end of the 'second. In the second
game at Barrie, Barrie led 2-0 at the
end of the first, and 4-2 at the end
of the escond. Five penalties—four
to Barrie and one to Goderich—were
assessed in the first game, and eight -
penalties three to Barrie and five
