FAVORITES?—NOT HERE
(London Free Press)
Majors start their playoffs, as fav-
orites. Strengthened by Tommy Mof-
fatt in goal and Lionel Ayres on de-
fence near the end of the season, this
club, composed entirely of veterans of
this war, has got better every time
out. They hope to make a strong bid
for the group title and the 0 H A
crown.

SEVERAL NEW FACES
Clinton Midgets had several new
names in their line-up when they
played Goderich Midgets recently in
Clinton.
Bob Riehl, who had played goal all
season, was replaced in the opening
minutes of the game by Vic Aubin,
Beucefield. The defence was strength-
ened by Ken Armstrong, Londesboro.
Despite these replacements, the boys
were eliminated by 'Goderich from
the WOAA. Midget play-offs.
GODERICH STILL WINNING
After putting away Exeter, God-
erich Lions Juveniles are still going
strong in the WOAA race, having
defeated Kincardine in the second
round 21-8 in two games. Goderich
trimmed Kincardine in Goderich Sat-
urday night by 19-4 before 800 fans,
but dropped the Tuesday night en-
counter at Kincardine 4-2.
GODERICH MIDGETS WIN
Led by Beacom and Price, Goderich
defeated Chesley 10-4 in the first
game of theWOAA midget playoffs
at Goderich last night. The second
game of the series will be played at
Chesley Friday night. Beacom netted
three goals for Goderich, while Price

HURON JUNIOR FARM
BOYS AND GIRLS ARE
ACTIVE IN CLUB WORK
(Continued from Page Seven)
place a class and then orally or writ-
ten, give the judge our reasons for
this particular placing. Also the
Achievement Days are very beneficial
in that we develop a competitive
spirit, and we learn to be a good
loser as well as a good winner.
Phyllis Middleton: Mr. Nelson, last
year we had the opportunity of join-
ing a Girls' Horne Garden Club. Will
this club be available this year?
Nr. Nelson: Yes, we have ordered
50 packages of seeds for the Huron
County girls. If you are planning to
have a club in your community I
would suggest that you register with
Flora Durnin, Dungannon, your home
economist or we will be glad to re-
ceive your application at the Depart-
ment of 'Agriculture.
Phyllis Middleton: Several of my
friends have been asking me about
the club. I hope to join the club
some time as I don't know very much
about gardening or canning,
Grace Lobb: I was sorry not to
attend the County Achievemnent Day
last June. I know the girls have
completed the fall project"'Dressing
Up Home Grown Vegetables," but
what did they decide to have this
spring.
Mr. Nelson: Miss Durnin was in the
office last week and she said she
would be holding a Training School
for "Cottons May Be Smart", some
time in March or early April, in
Wingham. and Exeter.
Grace Lobb: That is an interesting
club. I think every girl is interested
in making a spectator sport dress for
herself.
Keith Tyndall: Oh! is that what you
do in that club. Do you have a club
to make .shirts for boys. They are
rather hard to find these days.
Phyllis Middleton: No, by our ex-
perience in making clothes for our-
selves we learn the different 'tech-
niques that we would use in making
garments such as men's shirts. For
example we would use the seine seam
finish as we used in making tailored
pyjamas.
Clothing Contest
Mr. Nelson: Did you know that
there will be a provincial contest in
clothing this year? For a number of
years there have been provincial con-
tests for Agricultural clubs, and each
province had the opportunity of enter-
ing five teams in the Dominion con-
test held in Toronto, and Guelph in
November. This year each province
may enter six teams if one is a
clothing tearer.
Grace Lobb: It would be interesting
to meet with winning boys and girls
from other provinces.
Mr. Nelson: Yes, it is a real op-
portunity to further Junior work in
Canada, The eighteen young people
from each province will represent
nine communities. These winners
should have the ability to learn some-
thing from contacts with those from
other provinces and to pass it on to
others in their community and county.
