GODERICH 20-10
Clinton Lions Midgets were sever-
ely defeated in the final round of the
WOAA Hidget play-offs by Goderich
Lions this week by 20-10.
The first game was played in God-
erich on Monday evening when the
Goderich boys skated off the ice with
en 8-5 win. The Clinton goal -getters
were Denomme, Matthews, Steepe,
Taylor and Cam Maltby: The latter
was the best man on the iee for
Clinton and collected three points.
Beacom and Price were the "bright
lights" for Goderich.
With a three -goal lead, the God-
erich kidk carne back to Clinton last
night. They started off with a goal
in the early minutes of play and con-
tinued to pile up their lead until
the end of the game. When the final
whistle blew they had an 11-4 win
over the locals.
The visitors were led by Beacom
who scored four goals :'rice tallied
twice and Doak, McPhailSmith and
Meriam each scored one. Bob Taylor
accounted for two Clinton goals while
Miller. and Steepe each tallied once.
In the series both teams displayed
good fast hockey and the best of
sportsmanship.
