PLAYING WITH GODERICH
Roy Churchill, who was the star
of Clinton Juvenile team before he
enlisted in the Canadian Army is
this year starring with Goderich
Juniors.
The Midget Hockey season waa•
opened here on Friday evening, when
the Clinton team played host to God-
erich, and like good hosts, lost by 5-3.
Scoring, was opened by Roger
'Garon early in the first period. Mid-
way through the period Goderich
evened the count.
In the second period, Don Miller,
the Clinton fast -skating right winger
put Clinton one up. With a few min-
utes remaining in the period, God-
erich evened the score again.
Early in the third period, Goderich
went one up when a fluke goal bounc-
ed off Miller's skate into the Clinton
goal. A few minutes later Goderich
scored again to put themselves in
the lead by two goals. Midway
through the period, Miller got his
second counter of the game for Clin-
ton. With only a few seconds re-
maining in the game Goderich scored
the final counter.
The soft condition of ice was the
main factor in breaking up the Clin-
ton passing play, Coach Jack Nedi-
ger expects that when the boys get
a chance to play on hard ice the
outcome will be different.
Line-ups:.
