The funeral of the late Mrs.
Jelin McLeod was held. from
Kien Presbyterian Church, Au-
burn, with the pastor, Rev. John
Honeymen, officiating. Pallbear-

Beadle, J. C. Stoltz and
Wilscki. ,
Mrs. McLeod who was spend-
ing the winter with her daughter,
Mrs. Gordon W. Smith, Milver-
ton, died after an illness of only
a few hours.
The former Margaret Jane Par-
rish, daughter of the late Mr.
ARTHUR FRASER and Mrs. David Parrish she was

Ladies' Club Meets
Tuckersmith Ladies' Club held
its December meeting at S.S, No,
4 School with an attendance of
14. The meeting opened with the
singing of the Opening Ode fol-
lowed by the Lord's Prayer in
unison.
The minutes of the last meet-
ing were read and adopted and
the roll called. Reports were
given by all committees.
The programme consisted of
readings by Mrs. F. Walters, Mrs.
E. Whitmore, and Mrs. H. Johns,
a solo by Miss Carol Pepper and
a contest was conducted by Mrs.
Walters During the evening a
quilt was tied.
The meeting closed with the
'singing of `Jingle Bells," followed
by the repeating of the Home-
makers' Prayer, and later a pot-
luck' lunch was served.

NAVIGATION OVER
GODERICH — Arrival of the
Viandoc with winter storage cargo
of 241,000 bushels of wheat,
marked the end of navigation for
the season at this port, Dec. 14.
The winter fleet of six vessels
is smaller than last year's fleet
of 12. Many vessels are winter-
ing at American parts because of
the increase in rates.
