Londesboro B -A's beat Benmiller
17-12 in a game in group 5 WOAA
Intermediate "C" softball series
which was played in Londese
bore July 6.
Benmiller got a small lead in
the early stages of the game,
however, the B -A's rallied in the
last of the sixth, getting seven
runs across the plate to take the
lead and from then on added
runs tohis lead in every inning.
Westlake was on the mound all
the way for Beniniiler while
Bloor and Carter shared the
pitching duties for Londesboro.

8, by 41-1. Throwing them up
for Clinton was Joanne Castle
who struck out eight batters and
walked only one. Ori the mound
for Wingham was Skins.
The Clinton team did outstand-
ing hitting in the game. In the
fourth inning, 21 runs crossed
the plate. Joanne Castle hit two
homeruns, while Bette . Woolfrey
hit a homerun and a triple,
Lorine Geron and Ruth °leer also
hit home runs.
The Clinton girls played a good
game, making only two errors.

OBITUARY
GEORGE T. JENKINS
Goerge T. Jenkins passed away
in Clinton on Wednesday, July
6, 1949, after a lengthy illness at
his residence on Isaac Street,
A son of Rowland and Eliza-
beth .tenkins, 'he was born in
Huron County on the farm where
Reece Jenkins now lives. He re-
ceived his education on conces-
lon 16, at S.S. No. 11 school,
He worked with his father until
he left for the West, where he
took up homesteading, later run-
ning 'a livery 'business, in Lloyd-
minster, Alta. He later returned
to Clinton and bought out John
Nediger's building end' started up
the 'lumber business. He sold
this to V. D. Falconer, due to
poor health, in 1943, and retired
from active. life.
On' September '9, 1921, he mar -
Tied Mabel Elva Cantelon, dau-
ghter ,of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Cantelon, They had one son,
Reginald Earl Jenkins, who pre-
deceased. his father on September
16, 1946, in Provost, Alta. lie
also is survived by two slaters:
Mrs. Wesley Stevens, and Mrs,
Nixon Welsh, both of London;
end two brothers: Harvey and
Herb Jenkins, both of Clinton;
one sister, Mrs. T. • Wallis passed
away. several years ago. Mr.
Jenkins was a member of Clinton
Lodge,,,AF.:•alid ' M.,•No. 84,
G.R.C'.;' also of Clinton Lodge,
IOOF, No. 83. .He was a very
active charter member of Clinton
Lions Club. He attended Wesley -
Willis United Church.
The funeral took place Friday
afternoon, July 5, from Ball and
Mutch Funeral Home, Clinton.
Rev. Andrew Lane, Brussels, for-
mer minister of Wesley -Willis
United Church, Clinton, was in
charge of the service at the Fun-
eral Home, delivering an approp-
riate address on the life of Mr.
