Bride -elect Feted
Complimenting Miss Margaret
Henry, bride -elect of this month,
some 75 friends and relatives
gathered on the manse lawn to
honor her with a miscellaneous
shower last Thursday evening.
Following several contests and
stunts arranged by Miss Eva
Stackhouse and Mrs. A. Paterson,
Margaret was seated in a beauti-
fully decorated chair. Mrs. R.
Allan read the address and Miss
Olive Foote and Mrs. G. Beecroft
made the presentation of the gifts
in a decorated basket. A delic-
ious lunch was served at the
conclusion of an enjoyable even-
ing.
Trousseau Tea Held
Mrs. William Henry entertain-
ed on Tuesday at a trousseau tea
in honor of her daughter, MIss
Margaret, whose marriage takes
place this Saturday, July 9, in
Brucefield United Church. Some
80 friends called during the af-
ternoon and evening. During the
afternoon, Mrs. H. Aikenhead and
Mrs. B. Kennard poured tea, the
tea room assistants being Miss J.
Watson and Miss D. Lancaster,
while Mrs. H. Cameron and Mrs.
C. Cochrane displayed the trous-
seau end linens, and Mrs. Y. Ald-
winckle showed the gifts.
In the evening, Miss Eva
Stackhouse displayed the linens,
Mrs. F. Watson the gifts and Miss
D. Lancaster the trousseau. Pour-
ing tea were Mrs. Dr. Addison
and Mrs, A. Fraser: assistants be-
ing Misses R. Scott and B. Zapfe.
Mrs. A. Zapfe welcomed the guests
and had charge of the register.
Ron and Jim Peterson, Lon-
don, spent the holiday at their
