An added attraction to the numerous interesting displays at RCAF Station, Clinton, on Satur- 2 day's Air Force Day, was an ex - 3 cellent soccer game between the RCAF and a representative Lon - 0 don League team. 0 The London team, playing in the Labatt colours, was represen- tative of the London City and Labatt teams. The kick-off was prompt at 3.45 and in the early minutes of the game the RCAF were unlucky not to score through Dawson. The seasoned London defence soon settled down and after 15 minutes play their forwards broke through and netted the first goal through Collins. Only four minutes later, Hind' - son playing inside left for the RCAF, equalized with a beautiful 25-5yard drive which goalkeeper Heatherington failed to hold. Half time score; RCAF 1 — London 1. The London team pressed strongly from the commencement of the second half and were soon rewarded with another goal from Collins. Although the Airmen defended extremely well, Collins put the visitors further ahead only ten minutes later. An injury to Hindson weakened the RCAF attack but their continued deter- mination bore fruit when three minutes from the final whistle Dawson went through on a solo run andnetted a beautiful goal, Final score: RCAF 2 — Lon- don 3.
