Ladies' Club Meets
The April meeting of the Tuck-
ersmith Ladles' Club was held at
the home of Mrs, W. Roberts with
18 present. The meeting opened
with, the Opening Ode, followed,
by the Lord's Prayer repeated in
unison.
The minutes of the last meet-
ing and the treasurer's report'
were adopted as read. Readings
were given by Mrs. Ernie Crich
and. Mrs. Ii'. Pepper. The meet-
ing closed with the Homemaker's
Prayer, following which a delic-
ious lunch was served.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Herman
Crich, The roll call willl be
answered by the exchange of
bulbs end slips and by disclosing
the name of each person's sun-
shine sister,

County LOL Meets
A number of local Orangemen
attended the County LOL in'ilen-
sa21 on Wednesday evening last
where plans were made to cele-
brate July 12 in Brussels.

A large delegation of Progres-
sive Conservatives attended the
Convention in Mitchell on Sat-
urday evening last when Elgin
McKinley was chosen to contest
the next election.

The degree team of Murphy'
Lodge LOL "710, Clinton, Visited
the local lodge, LOL ' 1035, on
Thursday evening last, and init-
iated 'a Targe Blass of oandidates
to the Orange degree.
St. John's WA Meets
The WA of St. John's Church
met on Thursday afternoon last,
at the home •of Mrs. M. Reid.
The afternoon was spent quilting.
Rev. L. Morgan closed the meet-
ing, reading a passage of Scrip-
ture and the members' prayer in
unison. Lunch was served by
the hostess.
Play Much Enjoyed
The play sponsored by the
Young People of Goshen and
Varna in the Hall last Friday
night, was much enjoyed. Each
one taking their part well. The
hall was• filled.to' capacity.
Mrs. Gertrude Reid is spending
some time with her daughter,
Mrs. Jamieson, Clinton.
We are pleased to report that
Mrs. Souter is feeling somewhat
better,
Mrs. York, who has been visit-
ing her mother, Mrs. Souter and
sister, Mrs. Orrin DoWson, hes
returned to her home in Toledo,
Ohio.
Varga WMS held their Easter
meeting in the church on April
7, with nine ladies present, Mrs.
William R. Stephenson had charge
of the Devotional. Hymn 112
was sung. Mrs. Anson Coleman,
Mrs. Lorne Coleman and Mrs.
Moyers, took part of the Easter
program, out of the Missionary
Monthly. Hymn 98 was sung. The
business meetiny then followed,
and Mrs. William R. Stepehnson
and Mrs. Lorne Coleman appoint-
ed delegates to the Convention
in April in Hensall. Hymn 407
was sung after which Mrs. Steph-
enson pronounced the Benedic-
tion,
