,B' r 'PEG'S,
Him' In the
chapter
eru of
Lukthe e, in speaking
fixion we have the wonderful
story of the conversion of one of
the thieves: Take your Bibles
and read this story. If we know
it God will reveal some new
meaning to us and if we have
never read, it, the truth there
revealed may mean a great deal'
in our liven. In spite of the fact
that God may not give us any
warning of our last call, yet it,
reveals to us the fact that God
will always receive us if we ask
Him to. Many have been brought
to Christ 'in the last years of
their lives. One sorrow in con-
nection with that is that we have
spent a wasted life as far as
Eternity is concerned. How sad
it will be for us to have to stand
before the throne of God and
Peel that we have come empty-
handed, that there is no one to
say to us: "He was the means of
bringing me to Christ." Have
we ever given that any serious'
thought? The thief who was sav-
ed at the last minute accepted
all that Christ could give him
and yet be shared the love of
God with'not one soul. Be would
stand alone. Better that than
not be with Christ at all but
what a tragedy!
We read. that the thief on the
other side joined the scoffers in
-ailing, on Christ. The other man
called to him: "Dost not thou
fear God, seeing thou art in the
same condemnation and we justly
for we receive the due reward
of our deeds, butthis men hath
done nothing amiss." We won-
der just what brought the real-
ization to him that Christ had
some characteristics which he felt
were necessary in his life. He
had perhaps been 'watching the
patient way in which Christ bore

The 1949 Chevrolet is completely restyled, lower, wider and is available in two series—Fleetline
and Styleline with a wide variety of body types, Shown here is the Styleline four -door deluxe
sedan. There has been an immense increase in glass area with all windows deepened and widened.
The windshield takes full advantage of wider bodies, curving inward at the narrowed pillars to
improve sideway at well as forward vision. The gain in visibility over 1948 has been as much as
30 per cent on comparable models. The new Chevrolet for 1949 is powered by a rugged six -

thief to then start to do good
works. It was not works Willett
saved the thief, nor will it be
works except those done in the
name of Christ which will count
for us at the great day of Judg-
ment. It was nothing but the
acceptance of Christ which was
the mean's of the thief s salvation
and that is all that is necessary
for our salvation. Eternal life
with our Saviour is free, all we
have to do is to accept Christ
and take Him as our personal
Saviour. We can do nothing
to come into their lives.
There• are,many who are sorry
for their sins, but yet they never
repent, Death comes to each one
a us once and as it finds us end
leaves us so shall we be through
all' eternity. It will indeed be
dreadful if we make our choice
and have to spend eterinty with-
out our Saviour.
