Miss Edith Bowey on Tuesday.
Mrs. William Scott, the new
president, was in the chair. Mrs.
H. Dalrymple had charge of the
devotional exercises and' opened,
the meeting with hymn 299. The
leader led in prayer and read a
prayer hymn. Two readings were
given, one by Mrs. Scott, .and one
which included several scripture

charge and Mrs, William Craig

The Scripture, was read by Miss
Elms Mutch and prayer was of-
fered by Mrs. C. M. Straughan.
Mrs., Ernest Patterson spoke on
Christian Stewardship. Mrs. Toll
read from the study' book. A solo
was sung by Mrs, Donald Fowler
and Mrs. A. G. Hewitt read sev-
eral short poems. . Miss Marg-
aret King read the minutes.
Reports were read by Miss M.
' King, recording secretary; Miss
E. Mutch,- corresponding secre-
tary; Mrs. C, M. Straughan, treas-
urer; Mrs. Albert Campbell; lit-
erature and, Mrs. J. Arthur, sup-
ply secretary. All reported in-
creases in 'their departments.
The treasurer' reported $345.63
had been raised during the' year.
The February meeting will. be
held at the home of Mrs. Donald
Fowler. Mrs. Toll 'offered the
closing prayer. The hostess serv-
ed' refreshments.

was held at the manse with a
splendid attendance at this meet-
ing. The president was in the
chair and Mrs. Johnston was at
the piano. The Creed was re-
peated and Mrs. Johnston played
several carols. Mrs. Stanway
took the devotional. She read a
beautiful Christmas story — the
Christmas rose — and led in
prayer. The roll call was answ-
ered by a thought on Christmas.
Several items of business were
transacted, the main item being
the election of officers for 1949.
A short social period followed
and the Tuckersmith ladies'serv-
ed a delicious lunch. The result
of the attendance contest,resulted
in a win for Stanley. ''r
Miss Bowey thanked all who
had helped to make 1948 a real
success in the WA. A vote of
thanks was extended to Mrs.
Stanway for her hospitality in
opening her home for the meet-
ing. The meeting closed by the
usual song and prayer of the WA.

elected for 1949: President, Miss
Edyth Bowey; vice-president,
Mrs. G. Elliott; 2nd vice-presi-
dent, Mrs. T. B. Baird; secretary -
