or many m

Kin
of our beloved g George
and Queen Elizabeth have watch-
ed and waited with anxiety for
the arrival of the heir or heiress
to the British throne. On No-
vember the fourteenth a tiny
prince was born in Buckingham
Palace, the temporary home of his
parents, the Duke and Duchess of
Edinburgh.
Everything which possibly
could be planned was done in
order that nothing would be left
undone to make his advent into,
this, at times almost a cruel
world, a joyous occasion. The
services of the best gynaecologist
and obstetrivan and the leaders
in the other lines of medicine
and surgery were secured and
the young prince arrived into a
palace which welcomed his ar-
rival. His name has been chosen
es Charles Philip Arthur George
and he will be known as Prince
Charles of Edinburgh.
We perhaps cannot imagine the

magnificence of his living quart-
ers. We do know that the King
and Queen have done all in their
power to keep down expenses as
they have done ever since the
beginning of the war.
The British subjects through-
out the British Commonwealth
are rejoicing with the reigning
King and Queen, with the Royal
patents and with Princess Marg-
aret, whose chances of ascending
the throne are almost entirely
swept away. It may be a great
many years, if ever, before the
young prince ascends the throne.
King George VI, although not
in 'perfect health, is a 'compar-
atively young roan. Then; when
he has departed this life Princess
Elizabeth is next in line before
the Prince. However, that will
probably be in the years to come,
We join with those who are
able to shout and run proclaim-
ing "Long Live the King."
So far few pictures of the young
prince have been broadcast to
the world, but in all probability
it will not be long tiilhetakes
his rightful place on the front
page of cur newspapers and
magazines. He was net born
many minutes before the wond-
erful news was broadcast to the
four ends of the earth.
Let us now travel back over
the years to the birth of the
Prince of Peace.

WA Meets •
The WA held its Christmas
meeting, in the basement of the
church on Thursday afternoon,
Dec. 16, with the president, Mrs.
Laura Saundercoek, in the chair.
The meeting opened with hymn
106, "It Came Upon The Midnight
Clear," followed byrepeating the
Lord's Prayer in unison. The min-
utes of the last meeting were
read and cards of appreciation
were read from Mrs. Hayward
and Mrs. Tares. The programme
committee for January are Mrs.
Watson and Mrs. Webster, The
roll call was answered by 21
present. Hymn 176, "0 Little
Town of Bethlehem" was sung.
Pslam 331 was read responsively b

A Christmas program was

pass over him to get out and no
wild animal of any kind could'.
get in past him to harm his i
charges.
So it is in our day and gener-
ation. Looking back we can just
imagine the consternation there
would be. The shepherds would
be tired after their long day of
watching and anxiety and in all
probability were sound asleep,
when they were awakened by
the bright light in the heavens
and the song of the angel voices.
Only those who were there would
have any idea of what that joy-
ous sound meant.
Such a difference as there
would be in the birth of the
prince of this world and that
of the Prince of Peace.
We do know that Jesus Christ
was the Prince of Peace and
we realize, all He has done for
us. What lies before us with
