It was the first meeting of the two local teams this • season, the Colts winning 11-6, The Airmen, however, Were short severalof their best players, including their ace hurler, "Murph" Murphy, the Halifax junior, who was on leave. ' The Auburn battery performed well for the Colts. Bob Craig Pitched for seven frames and Norm Wilson for three innings. Laurie Colquhoun went in be- hind the bat in the fourth.• Li the eighth, a new battery, Stock and Cook, took over. Big "Rob- bie" Robertson did the entire stretch for theAirmen, and if he had been given half -decent sup- port in the field, would have come closer to winningthe genie than he . did. Some of the erorrs be- hind him were palpable, includ- ing dropped flies in the outfield and the simplest tries. The Air Force boys were definitely "off- -at least until the seventh when they shoved across a trio of counters. Pitcher 'Robertson's homer in the ninth featured, but there was no one aboard.
