In First Games of Year
RCAF Station, Clinton, split
even in the team's first two starts
in Huron -Perth Intermediate "C"
baseball, losing at home to Lucan
Irish Nine Monday afternoon by
16-4, and winning at Centralia
from RCAF of that station by
19-9 last evening.
Lucan 16 -RCAF 4
There was an excellent open-
ing game crowd in Community
Park, Clinton, Monday afternoon,.
and the weather was ideal. The
visitors showed a little too much
in the way of working together
for the Airmen, as none of the
Airmen ever had played together
before. There is not one member,
of the 1947 team left except Coach
Walsh, who did not play Monday4

Drew Government had not spent
five cents to relieve the housing

a scheme which is practicable.
The Ontario Government headed

At this point, Richard and Jane

boasting to the shareholders of
the money they' spent.
"There issa difference between
spending public money on neces-
sary services and spending it: on
extravagances," he said: "Re,
member, when they come and tell
you about all the money they've
spent, .'that money ' came from
you." He favored market roads
in the rural sections, rather than
four -lane super -highways near
the big cities.
E. S. Livermore, K.C.
E. S. Livermore, K.C.,, recalled
his school days in Clinton. He
paid tribute to Mr. Fingland as a
man well equipped for the job
through experience and ability. He
charged that Mr. Drew had stated
he was "walking arm in arm with
Duplessis, premier of Quebec."
Duplessis is Fascist, and the only
thing they have in'common is
hatred of MVlackenzie King.'
Mr. Livermore dealt at some
length with the hydro picture and
charged that Mr. Drew was mak-
ing it a political football, and also
stated that it had taken the Gov-
ernment three years to get under
way in development. The second
largest industrial concern on the
North American Continent should
be in the hands of highly -trained
men, not politicians like Robert
H. Saunders, the new chairman.
Under a Liberal Government, the
gasoline tax would be cut three
cents a gallon.
Benson W. Tuckey also spok'
briefy fh support of the candidate
and thanked his supporters for
their help in the by-election.

percentage of the children are
participating. Due to the gener-

there are several fine trophies to
