Who was always so kind and true,
Someone we loved with all our

is just amazing; intellectually, he
is a„giant. He is conversant with
every problem facing the Govern-

F. S. Thomas
Fletche±' S. Thomas, MLA for
Elgin, who defeated Mitchell Hep-
burn in Elgin in 1945,.was intro-
duced by Charles McNaughton,
Exeter, and was thankedin behalf
of the gathering by President Bell.
He was the desk mate of Mr.
Pryde in the recent House sitting.
Mr. Thomas paid a very high
tribute to Mr. Pryde, and recalled
the splendid' impression he made
when he took his seat in the Leg-
islature and spoke in the Throne
debate. He had acquainted him-
self very creditably under very
difficult circumstances.
"I think the kindest thing I can
'say is that he is conscientious, and
that I havefound him to be a
real fine Christian gentleman. I
can say nothing finer about any
man," he declared.
Mr. Thomas advocated more
liberal policy toward agriculture,
particularly in the matter of de-
velopment of scientific research
in agriculture and soil conserva-
tion methods.
