CLINTON COLTS FASTBALL CLUB
BASEBALL TEAM RE -ORGANIZES
GETS UNDER WAY FOR SEASON
Clinton Colts Intermediate
Baseball Club held a successful
re -organization meeting in the
Town Hall Monday evening when
nominations took place for various
' offices.
Bob Draper (chairman), Bert.
White and Clarence Neilans were
appointed a committee to inter-
view all the prospective officers
and secure their consent to act.
These names will be presented at
another public meeting to be held
in the Town Council Chamber at
8 p.m. sharp Tuesday next, April
27, when the formal election will
take place. All those interested
in the game are invited to attend.
In the absence of President G.
A. Miller, who has moved to High -
Clinton Fastball Club was 're-
organized at a meeting held in the
Town Council Chamber Tuesday
evening with a good attendance:
New uniforms are expected but
the name of the team has not yet
been decided. An entry has been
made in 'the Intermediate "A"
series of the WOAA softball
series, for towns with population
over 1,000. Grouping likely will
be with the old standbys -Wing -
ham, Goderich, Seaforth, Clinton
Radar School, and Centralia
RCAF.
Officers were elected as follows;
Honorary president, Dr. J. W.
Shaw; president, James Chowen;
vice-president, John W. Nediger,
Jr.; • secretary -treasurer, Wesley
Vanderburgh; executive commit-
tee -Jack Scruton, Doug Thorn -
gate, vice-president R. S. Atkey dike, R. S. Atkey, A. B. Taylor,
took the chair, with John Liver-
more as secretary. Mr. Livermore
read the minutes of the last an-
nual meeting, and presented the
financial statement for 1947, in-
dicating a nice balance in the
bank.
Informal discussion took place
concerning the Club's chances in
the Huron -Perth Baseball League
(Intermediate "C") this season.
Delegates will be named to the
schedule meeting in Hensall Wed-
nesday evening next. April 28.

Appointment was not made of
two very important officers -
Manager and Coach - but a com-
mittee consisting -of K. W. Colqu-
hour, Fred MacDonald and Clar-
ence Cooper, was named to inter-
view possible appointees.
The report of this committee
will be presented at another meet-
ing to be held in the Town Hall
Tuesday evening next, April 27,
at 8 p.m. sharp (DST).

Clinton. Men's Bowling League
(five pins) held a gala evening in
Hotel Clinton Thursday evening,
last when about 50 sat down to a
steak dinner and then witnessed
presentations and heard a few
short speeches. H. E. "Hal" Hart-
ley presided at the gathering, with
William Fulford ' as master -of -
ceremonies, It was a "wind-up"
for the season.
"Hal" Hartley presented the
financial report for the year,' and
made the presentation of various
prizes, including that fbr high -
triple (879) to Howard Grealis,
and that for high single (378) to
Bill Fulford for the second suc-
cessive year.
