Despite the fact that a number
of offices went by acclamation,
the Town of Clinton will have
an election on Monday next,
December 3, with polls open from
9 a,m. to 6 p.m. one hour later
than previously.
Official nominations were held
in the Town Council Chamber
Friday evening last, with a pub-
lic meeting following, with only
a fair attendance, probably a
little less than usual.
Mayor G. W. Nott was given
a second term by acclamation.
Two other nominees — Wilbert.
Gliddon and ex -Mayer R. VT Hat-
tin—did not qualify.

a good Council. All had done
their work well.
The extra eight mills on the
tax rate was due to salaries and
other expenditures. A number of
projects had been accomplished
and he foresaw a smell surplus
at the end of the year.

Reeve Dr• G. S. Elliott ex-
plained how $12,000 had been
spent on streets in the past year.
Council budgeted for $19,000,
figuring on sidewalks, but $12,-
000 was the expenditure.
