Mrs. Davies, Sr., who has spent over a year in the village with her son, Sgt. Ted Davies, and family, left Sunday for Listowel. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Heard, London, were in the village over the weekend, having come to at- tend the Brandon -Denby wedding. The many friends of John Toms, n ill in Clin- ton Pwho has been Hospital, will be glad to know that he will return home Sunday. Mrs. H. J. G. Webb and Master George returned home Monday after having spent several weeks with her parents at Lily Bay, Manitoba. Mr. and Mrs. V. Lamoreaux left on Monday for their home in Ottawa after having visited their daughter, Mrs. G, Lamidandi for a. few days. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Atkinson and Miss Marion, St. Clair Shores, Mich., accompanied by Ron Ev- ans, Detroit, were at their home in the village over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Mr. and Mrs. Rich- ards also visited the former's sis- ter, Mrs. Emma MacLeod, who we regret to report suffered e stroke of paralysis at the home of her son, W. J. MacLeod, Satur- day, Little two-year-old Jerry, son of LAC and Mrs. Gerald Lam- irandi, was knocked down Sun- day afternoon on the road on Louisa St. by a car driven by Donald Warner. In company with other children, he was playing on the roadside, opposite his home when the accident occur- red. His mother was attracted by the scream of brakes, • and one of the other children yelling "Jerry". She ran outside to see him get . up and run toward the house. Fortunately he had not been injured,. The recent asci-. dents in the village should serve as a warning to children not to play on the road. In Bayfield there is plenty of room on the wide boulevard end parents should stress the fact that this is the place for children. Trinity WA Meets The regular meeting of Trin- ity Church WA was held at the home of Mrs. N. W. Woods on Thursday afternoon. The rector, Rev. H. J. E. Webb, conducted the opening exercises. The meet- ing was in charge of the presi- dent, Mrs. E. Heard and Mrs. George King read the Scripture. The secretary's and treasurer's reports were given by Mrs. R. J. Larson and Miles Lucy Woods, respectively. Mrs. R. J. Larson was appointed delegate and Mrs. J. B. Higgins, substitute dele- gate to the semi-annual Diocesan meeting to be „held in Wingham on October 24. M.S.C.C. calend- ars for 1952 were distributed for sale to parishioners. Mrs. Higgins read a most int- eresting account of the life of Miss Raby Wye, a contemporary and friend of Alexander Graham Bell and Pauline Johnston, who in her 98th year still takes an 'active interest in Grace Church, Brantford. Miss Wye end her sisters were pioneers in forming Women's Organziations within the Church. of England In the city of Brantford, Mrs. Higgins, Mrs. Byrd Stur- geon and Mrs. E. Heard served tea.
