Mothers' Study Club
Has Fine Meeting
The September meeting of the
Mothers' Study Group of Wes
ley -Willis Church was held- at
Mrs. William Grigg's home with
20 members present.
Mrs. William Murch opened the
meeting with a.poem, "What God
Hath Promised." A hymn, 298,
was sung and the Scripture les-
son (Matt. 6:1-13), was read by
Mrs. Reg. Shipley, followed by
the Lord's Prayer in unison.
The collection amounted - to
$3.55 and. 75 cents penny fund,

a humorous reading; "Baby Talk"

read and discussed.
The meeting closed with• hymn

Report Harvest Late

joyable trip to 'the West. Coast
to Victoria, B.C.
They also journeyed 470 miles
north of Edmonton to Grand
Prairie, Alta. They report that
in the Peace River District, the
harvest is very late, the oats still
being green. In Saskatchewart,
the rainfall has been so heavy,
swaths 'of grain lie in water.
They travelled by train, boat
and bus, and still believe Ontario
is the province most favored by
Mother Nature.
The celebration of their 25th
wedding anniversary coincided
with this trip.
St. Andrew's Girls'
Club Holds Meeting
The monthly meeting of St.
Andrew's Girls' Culb was held
in the Sunday School room of
the church. The meeting opened
with the singing of a hymn, fol-
lowed by Mrs. Newcombe read-
ing the Scriptu,re.' Mrs. Lane.
led in prayer. The minutes were
read end adapted. Mrs. Frank
Mutch gave the treasurer's zee
port.
Work was planned for the fall
season, Mrs. Royce Macaulay
read a short story on "The Lord
is my Shepherd." A hymn fol-
lowed and Mrs. Lane gave a short
talk on 'the text, 1st Kings.
The meeting closed with the
Mizpah benediction end lunch
was served by the hostesses, Mrs.
Jack Leiper, Mrs. Clarence Neil -
ens and Mrs. MacDonald.

October meeting at the home of
Miss Maud Wiltse on Thursday,
Oct. 11, at 2.30 p.m. Mrs. H. C.
Lawson will take the study book,
and report of the sectional meet-

The September meeting of
Clinton Baptist Church Ladies'
Aid met at the Parsonage Wed-
nesday 'afternoon last with Mrs.
Clair Clark in charge. The meet-
ing opened by singing "Sweet
Hour of Prayer." Mrs. Clark then
gave a talk on "Prayer" and
read John: 17, and followed this
by prayer.
Mrs. Clifford, secretary -treas-
urer, gave her reports and had
the roll call answered. Thank -
you notes were read and there
was a short business session:
Mrs. Clark was presented with
a farewell gift from the mem-
ber prior to Mr. and Mrs,' Clark's
departure to Dryden, 'Ontario. An
address was read by Mrs. T., Lep-
pington, while Mrs, Clifford made
the presentation. Rev. Mr. and
Mrs. Clark left Tuesday for their
new 'home.
The meeting concluded with a
dainty lunch served by the host-
ess,;
St. Paul's Ladies' Guild
The October meeting of St.
Paul's Ladies' Guild was held in
the Parish Hell Tuesday with the
president, Mrs. Fred' Trott, in
the chair.
After the opening and regular
business session, the rector. Rev.
R. M. P. Bulteel, spoke on "Was
our Lord in Britain?" He dealt
with three legends; one from
Cornwall, and two from Somerset.
The rector quoted the legends
and various verses from Scripture
end left his audience to decide
for themselves whether Our Lord
had ever ,been in Britain.
